Wes Anderson & Jarvis Cocker kündigen Crossover-Album-Projekt an: “The French Dispatch”-Soundtrack und “Chansons d’Ennui Tip-Top” – Veröffentlichungsdatum: 22.10.
“The French Dispatch”-Soundtrack und “Chansons d’Ennui Tip-Top” werden am Freitag veröffentlicht!
Für seinen neuen Film “The French Dispatch” hat Regisseur Wes Anderson u.a. mit dem Oscar-Gewinner und Komponist Alexandre Desplat zusammengearbeitet. Für einen französischen Chanson holte Anderson Jarvis Cocker ins Boot, der sich wiederum zu einem neuen Album inspirieren ließ.
Auf Instagram erklärt Jarvis Cocker:
“Tip Top est arrivée! I am glad to finally be able to tell you about this project. The new Wes Anderson movie “The French Dispatch” features a fictional French pop star called Tip Top. JARV IS… were asked to record a version of “Aline” (originally a hit in the 60s for non-fictional French pop star Christophe) under the guise of Tip Top. You may have heard it in the trailer for the film. One thing led to another & now there is a whole Tip Top album “Les Chansons d’Ennui” set for release on October 22nd (the same day the film is released worldwide). Having grown up with a deep love of French pop this was a dream come true for me: I get to sing songs made famous by artists such as Gainsbourg, Brigitte Fontaine, Françoise Hardy, Jacques Dutronc – plus duet on “Paroles,Paroles” with Laetitia Sadier. “Aline” is available to listen to in full as of today – the rest will follow soon. Après moi, la déluge.“
So kam es zu einem außergewöhnlichen Crossover-Album-Projekt, bei dem zum einen der Soundtrack mit Score und Songs, zum anderen Cockers neues Werk mit Neuinterpretationen legendärer Chansons mit dem Titel “Chansons d’Ennui Tip-Top”. Beide Alben können ab sofort vorbestellt werden. Zudem erscheint ein Super Deluxe Set.
