Die aus Liverpool stammende Indie-Pop-Rockband POLICE CAR COLLECTIVE, angeführt von Bassist Simon und Sänger Frankie, hat es weit gebracht, seit sie 2020 durch BBC Introducing einem größeren Publikum vorgestellt wurden. Mit der Veröffentlichung ihrer ersten EP „1980“ im vergangenen Jahr gewann die Band in ihrer Heimat den Support von Radio-Größen wie Jack Saunders von BBC Radio 1 (“POLICE CAR COLLECTIVE are really an embodiment of the scene at the moment, actually there are a clash of scenes to be honest, a clash of the culture that we’ve grown up with from those heyday indie days through the influence of production pioneers across like hip hops heavyweights, probably most notably the autotune on the vocal on that POLICE CAR COLLECTIVE tune made truly credible by Kanye West on ‚808’s and Heartbreak.’”) oder Annie Mac und John Kennedy von Radio X. POLICE CAR COLLECTIVE veröffentlichen jetzt ihre neue Single „MIKE“, ein Vorgeschmack auf ihre kommende zweite EP „MONEY MACHINE, die am 4. März erscheinen soll!“
Die Band selbst sagt über ihre neueste Veröffentlichung: “MIKE was the easiest song we’ve ever written,” says the band. “It was like someone removed the barrier between us and our creativity and we just had complete freedom. MIKE is that song that you want to listen to when you’re going to school or work or wherever and you just want to have that moment where you let it all out and don’t care if anyone sees. That’s what MIKE is to us, it’s freedom.”
