Ein Autounfall (kein allzuschwerer) legte die Weichen für ihr viertes Album „Power“. Sänger und Gitarrist Sam McTrusty darüber: “But it’s been all to the good. It focused our thoughts on what we wanted this next bit of our band’s life to be like – and sound like. And we had one guiding thought about the new album: how on the edge of thrilling can we make this?” Nach ihrem dritten Album ließ sich die Band ein eigenes Studio bauen und einigte sich darauf alle musikalischen Ideen nur dort herauszulassen und so eine ganz eigene Spannung zu schaffen. “And that was so… fucking… difficult!” sagt McTrusty lachend.
Entstanden sind dabei zehn Tracks die es in sich haben und überzeugen. Erst nach Fertigstellung des Albums unterschrieb die Band einen neuen Plattenvertrag. Ihre Intention war, ein Album zu schaffen ohne äußere Einflüsse oder Druck von anderen.

Sie wollten die Kontrolle über ihre Zukunft haben und das war die einzige Möglichkeit.
“This album: it’s just really free, and we’re really free,” erklärts Craig Kneale. “There was no premeditation. It’s just a fully creative entity, with no limitations. And we stayed true to that idea right till the very end.”
“Hearing these songs, that’s what I feel and hear: power,” ergänzt Sam McTrusty. “And that’s what these songs, and the last two years have made us feel as a band: totally empowered.”
