THE WEEKND ist zurück mit neuer Single + Video “Take My Breath ”
Bereits am Montag kündigte der Megastar seine neue Single „Take My Breath“ mit einem Snippet via Instagram an, begleitet von einem Trailer der Olympischen Spiele. In Berlin noch unterstützt durch eine Lichtprojektionsreihe an verschiedenen prägnanten Gebäuden der Stadt. Die Spannung stieg, The Weeknd hat es für die September-Ausgabe dann auch noch auf das Cover des Männermagazins GQ, auf allen Ausgaben weltweit, geschafft – einschließlich einer 20seitigen Fashion-/Interviewstrecke, die ihn auch in High Heels zeigt. Das ist ein absolutes Novum und seit 90 Jahren zum ersten Mal der Fall. Heute ist es nun endlich soweit, die Single „Take My Breath“ mit Video des Regisseurs Cliqua, ist soeben erschienen und gleichzeitig auch der Vorbote für das kommende Album.
“Take My Breath” ist die erste Veröffentlichung seit Release seines von Kritikern anerkannten Albums „After Hours“, das im März 2020 veröffentlicht wurde. „After Hours“ ist The Weeknds viertes #1 Album in den US und wurde mit Doppel-Platin für über 15,7 Milliarden Streams ausgezeichnet. Zusätzlich hat „After Hours“ auch noch in 20 weiteren Ländern die Charts angeführt, einschließlich Kanada und UK.
