30 Jahre ist Neil Hannon, aka The Divine Comedy bereits als Musiker unterwegs und hat in dieser Zeit eine kaum überschaubare Menge an Musik veröffentlicht. Eine Diskografie, 12 Alben umfassend, welche nun mit „Charmed Life – The Best Of The Divine Comedy“ zusammengefasst wird und am 04. Februar erscheinen wird. Die Sammlung umfasst 24 Tracks, von bekannten Hits bis zu Fan-Lieblingen, zusammengestellt von Neil und remastered in den Abbey Road Studios in London.
Außerdem wird es mit „The Best Mistake“ eine komplett neue Nummer zu hören geben. Bis es die zu hören gibt, empfehlen wir an dieser Stelle „Norman & Nora“ vom 2019er Album „Office Politics“!
„I’ve been luckier than most,“ reflektiert Neil Hannon. „I get to sing songs to people for a living and they almost always applaud. So when asked what to call this collection I thought of Charmed Life. I like the song and it rather sums up how I feel about my life.“
Neben den 24 Songs auf dem Best Of wird es eine limitierte 3CD Edition geben, welche zusätzlich noch bisher unveröffentlichtes Material und Aufnahmen präsentiert. Dazu ergänzt Neil: „I can’t give you an overview of these songs. They’re a crazy mixed up bunch. Some are strangely seasonal, some relate to what we’ve all been going through recently, some are just nuts. Enjoy!“
2022 wird The Divine Comedy auf Tour gehen und auch in Deutschland Halt machen.
