Ezra Furman kündigt das neue Album „All Of Us Flames“ an, das am 26. August über Bella Union erscheint!
Produziert von John Congleton, entfesselt das Album mit zwölf Songs Furmans Songwriting in einem offenen, lebendigen Sound, der zugleich auch sehr intim ist. In der Welt von „All of Us Flames“ scheint das Ende des patriarchalischen kapitalistischen Imperiums unmittelbar bevorzustehen und auch unausweichlich zu sein.
„It’s a queer album for the stage of life when you start to understand that you are not a lone wolf, but depend on finding your family, your people, how you work as part of a larger whole“, führt Ezra aus. „I wanted to make songs for use by threatened communities, and particularly the ones I belong to: trans people and Jews.“
Nach den vorangegangenen Singles „Book Of Our Names“ und „Point Me Toward The Real“ blickt die neueste Single „Forever In Sunset“ über die Apokalypse hinaus auf eine Vision des kollektiven Überlebens und zeigt auf, wie sich Personen so gemeinsam stärken können. „My world has already ended plenty of times before, and we queers know what to do: we take care of each other, we help each other out, we have a network of support for the crises we know will hit us from time to time.“
