CASPIAN veröffentlichen am 24.01.2020 ihr hocherwartestes neues Album „On Circles“. Jetzt erscheint mit „Circles on Circles“ ein besonderer Vorabtrack daraus: Philip Jamieson singt in dem Song der fast-immer-Instrumental-Band!
Die aus Beverly, Massachussets stammende Band CASPIAN, stehen kurz vor ihrem Release ihres fünften Albums „On Circles“ und veröffentlichen „Circles on Cirles“ einen weiteren Song. Der neue Song bringt eine Seltenheit für CASPIAN mit sich: Trotz, dass die Band vorrangig für ihre instrumentalen Songs bekannt ist, singt Band-Mitbegründer und Gitarrist Philip Jamieson auf dem Track.
“I can’t say that taking pen to paper and opening up my voice for the first time in 15 years was the moment of total catharsis that I was looking for when writing this song during a bout of isolation and especially rough depression over the holidays of 2018” erklärt Jamieson.
“I did discover however that the decision to keep going anyways and move through the swirling circles of gray is more often than not a softer, more gentle and ultimately tender acknowledgment than I was always led to believe. What we did musically for this song is an ode to that realization and felt like the appropriate closing statement for a record that tried its hardest to cover a familiar spectrum of emotions, including endings, which can be gentle too.”
CASPIAN stehen aktuell in den Startlöchern für ihre erste Nordamerika-Tour seit drei Jahren, die am 31. Januar 2020 in Los Angeles startet.
Der Pre-Order für das Album enthält eine stark limitierte, schwarze 180g Vinyl oder eine grün/blaue Vinyl und ist beim offiziellen Triple Crown Records Store verfügbar. Bei der digitalen Vorbestellung erhält man einen direkten Download der Single „Circles on Circles“ und „Flowers of Light“, zu der die Band erst kürzlich ein Live-Video veröffentlicht hat.
CASPIAN haben bis dato mit „The Four Trees“ (2007), „Tertia“ (2009), „Waking Season“ (2012) und „Dust and Disquiet“ (2015) vier Alben veröffentlicht. Seit der Gründung wird die Band für ihre mitreißende, filmische Musik ausgezeichnet. „Dust and Disquiet“ aus dem Jahre 2015 wurde von Noisey als „der lebensbejahende Soundtrack, den du in deinem Leben brauchst“ bezeichnet. Brooklyn Vegan schrieb zum 10-Song-Release „Trommelfelle werden weggeblasen und Kinnladen fallen gelassen“. Spin beschrieb Caspians Album als „epische, wortlose Orchesterschwellen“.
